I remember Phil to be a very pleasant guy. My last memory of him was I believe at our high school basketball court when Phil dislocated his knee, regardless he fought through the pain and bounced back quickly.
Rest easy Phil

First of all, what a tremendous photograph of Marie nuzzling that white horse! Her head looks so small in contrast to that huge animal, and the horse appears to be listening to Marie so intently (look at its left ear articulation). Marie was such a sweet person. I met her in kindergarten at El Centro and knew her during my SPUSD education through high school graduation. I always liked Marie, kind to everyone and always so approachable. Marie never succumbed to the judgmental social cliques that were so prevalent in our Tiger class. I always placed Marie on par with classmates that were eager to sit down and talk, imparting their joyous positive spin on any topic (Terry Stone, also an El Centro alum, was a twin in positive nature to Marie). I do remember feeling a tad jealous in Junior High when Marie McGowan and Bill Hoist became an item, however like Marie, Bill (RIP) was cut from the same beautiful cloth. What a terrific woman. Sail on smoothly Marie, as you voyage on to learn the grand secret.
