In Memory

Jenifer Halvorson (Lizotte)

Jenny passed away in 2003 in her home in Burlington, Vermont.  Many of us last saw her at our 25th reunion in 2000 and marveled at how happy and alive she was.  She was married and had two children.  Jenny died from breast cancer.

If you have additional details you would like to add about Jenny's life or her death, or any corrections, please add your memories below or send us an email.

I AM SORRY THAT I MISSED OUR 25TH REUNION AND SORRY TO HEAR OF JENNY PASSING AWAY FROM BREAST CANCER. IT DOES SEEM TO BE ON THE RISE WITH ONE OUT OF EVERY EIGHT WOMEN. SHE WILL BE MISSED. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN SHE WAS AND SUCH SPIRIT. MY LOVE AND BEST WISHES TO HER FAMILY. NOW THAT WE HAVE CHILDREN OR YOUNG ONES IN OUR LIVES WE FEEL THE PAIN HER PARENTS MUST FEEL OF LOSING A CHILD SO YOUNG. MAY THEY BE BLESSED.

I remember when I heard about Jenny's death and my heart just sank. I had not seen Jenny since High School but I do remember the times we shared. We would walk home together sometimes from school and have great conversations about what happened in our day. She was so kind and friendly always shared a smile and never had an unkind word about anyone.

I just became a member on the site and discovered that Jennifer had passed away. I was deeply saddened with the news. She was one of my best friends in since grade school in So. Pas and all the way through High School as she lived just around the corner from me on Monterey Rd., We would pal around almost daily after school and I have many memories and times. As we fight breast cancer through treatment, we also must look for its prevention. I lost my own mother to it as well. With the recent discover that hormonal meds severely increase our chance for development of female cancers. I hope this news gets out to all and we can reduce the deaths through better drug trials before giving them to the population. Sincere condolences although late to her family. Tedie Hudson (Steele).

She was ADORABLE -- from the time I first met her in 7th grade to the last time I saw her at our 25th reunion she was a ray of sunshine, a big smile, a warm heart, an overpowering natural beauty.
Jeni and I never "dated" -- but we were always friends and always made time for conversation if we sensed the other needed to talk. I remember going to pick her up at her house on Monterey, and her wonderful mom would always answer the door with a huge smile and an honest inquiry as to how I was doing.
When I went away to college, we would go see movies whenever I was in town, and her musings and thoughts on the movies were quite brilliant. Jeni always thought before she spoke, and she was ALWAYS acutely aware of other people's feelings and how they might react to harsh words.

I miss her. I always will. I loved growing up in the same town as she did.
Her gentle spirit reminds me of the good in human nature.

Playing sports in So. Pas would not have been the same without Jenny’s spirit...she was the ultimate cheerleader with that great smile and (ok…great figure) of hers. She was one of the nicest, sweetest young woman that I had a pleasure of knowing. Jenny and I were actually shy by nature, and I always felt a bond with her due to us just hanging around each other comfortably, not really saying much, but feeling content and happy. I am sure she still got the poms poms going on Gods team in heaven. Jenny was an Angel in my life and I know in many others.
